Balbat, Made
Made Balbat is an Estonian artist. She graduated from the Estonian Academy in Arts with a degree in Graphics. She has always been passionate about drawing. Recently, Made has mainly been involved with digital graphics. Her works are often based on literature, world famous stories and fairytales. In addition to illustrations, Made produces original graphic art pieces using techniques such as traditional etching and drypoint. These art pieces are engraved or etched on zinc or copper plates and printed by hand using a printing press. Another genre that Made has been involved with is graphic design. She has designed numerous books for various Estonian publishing houses. On top of that, she designs all of her own calendars and postcards. She has had numerous personal and group exhibitions both in Estonia and abroad.
