Professor Toomas Toomsoo graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tartu in 1996. In 2001, he completed his neurology residency at the University of Tartu. He is currently a doctoral student at the Tartu University Hospital’s Neurology Clinic and the University of Tübingen’s Institute for Clinical Brain Research. The professor is a member of various professional organisations, such as the Estonian Society of Neurologists and Neurosurgeons, the Estonian Headache Society, etc. As a neurologist, professor Toomsoo helps people with all kinds of neurological problems, but mainly focuses on headaches and Parkinson’s disease. Professor Toomsoo also has a certificate to perform transcranial sonography and neurovascular ultrasounds (carotid arteries, cerebral arteries) and to assess carpal tunnel syndrome during an ultrasound. As a doctor, professor Toomsoo has two goals: either to identify the disease and find the best treatment method for the patient or to help his patient understand that no neurological disease was found.
